PhD Year 3 In Review
My 3rd year flew by. I still don't believe it is already over and I feel like I still have not done much research.

I am a Clinical Data Scientist at Aura, developing AI models to enhance youth safety and mental health, and an independent consultant integrating wearable data for mental health applications.
I completed my PhD in Medical Informatics at UCLA, where I researched machine learning pipelines using smartphone and wearable data to monitor depression and mood.

My 3rd year flew by. I still don't believe it is already over and I feel like I still have not done much research.
The second year of this PhD was strange. I don't feel like I was particularly productive and I'm not sure if I can disentangle how much was pandemic and how much was regular un-productivity.
In August of 2020, I spent a night indoors and got sucked into the dark space that is ergonomics youtube, leading me to impulse spend $365 on a split keyboard.
