Samir Akre

Undergraduate in Biomedical Engineering

About Me

My name is Samir Akre, and I am currently a Junior at UC Davis studying Biomedical Engineering, involved in research and a self taught web developer. I've been part of research studying atherosclerosis, infant gut microbiology, and synthetic biology (genetic engineering) at the Passerini Lab, Mills Lab, and UC Davis iGEM 2016 team respectively. I've recently been playing with microcontrollers like the Arduino and IoT devices like the Raspberry Pi and Intel Joule.

Beyond research my primary projects are the startups Maia Health and Leuco Life, for which I am the technology lead of both.
